Chapter oNe

Deep in a patch where fall winds whine
Lived an odd little pumpkin with hand-like vines.
He played many songs that friends could all hum,
But vines soon grew brittle, and cold made them numb

Chapter TWO

One crisp night as the leaves blew and swirled,
The vines started snapping from where they had curled.
"I've no hands to play with," he thought in his head
The thunder responding, the moon glowing red.

Then from a mist came the voice of a ghost.
He said, "A gourd who can mope makes the boring-est host!
Perhaps I can help, if you don't mind a plan...
We'll make some good music without even a hand!"

Intermission

A winner sometimes wins a prize,
A trophy, cash, a bit of pride...
This spooky season may collide
With bygone years—and that's your guide!

But pay close attention to moonlit sky!
Where music plays and clouds hang high!

Chapter Four

And in swooped a bat from an old grinning oak.
Her eyes were like ink while she gleefully spoke,
"I'll flap you a rhythm and squeak like a wheel,
Let's make it a band, a trio of thrills!"

Chapter FIVE

Together they tiptoed toward Spooky Hall,
Where a dusty piano sat sad like a doll.
With boo's in the air and wings in the breeze,
The pumpkin hopped up and rolled on the keys.

Chapter six

A new kind of sound emerged in the night,
The discord of tones making music of fright,
But laughter from friends—some old, some made new--

Can always create a new kind of tune.

“Just when I feared the spirit of Halloween was slithering away, videos came creeping in that completely screamed otherwise! I hope you have enjoyed the nightmarish brew of phantasmal videos students have conjured! One can only wonder what shadows they have lurked in to bring forth such creative offerings! I certainly appreciate the hard work and original ideas—spooky at times, hilarious at others. They never disappoint! Thank you, students, for expanding your imaginations and musical manifestations! Keep up the truly amazing work!

And may you all sleep peacefully tonight!”
