Recital - Students perform for an audience. Memorization and repertoire requirements may vary.
Festival - Students perform for individual evaluation and receive a rating or score. Festivals may occur in a recital setting, such as Fall Festival, or as a private performance for a judge, such as Federation and Piano Guild. Music must be memorized and provided to the judge, no photocopies.
Competition - Students perform for ranking amongst their peers, such as the GMTA Auditions Competition, Scholarships, etc. Music must be memorized and provided to the judge, no photocopies.
Masterclass - Students perform for a master teacher and receive guidance. Masterclasses occur in front of an audience.
A Note on Deadlines - Deadlines are established by each event as cut-off dates for teachers to register students and submit all fees associated with the event. These dates are firm. Students should notify me of any event in which they would like to participate long before the deadline. It is better to prepare in advance for an event even if the student decides to withdraw at a later date. However, please keep in mind that no refunds will be given after a deadline because payments will have already been submitted to the event.
