All tuition payments are processed on the 1st day of the month through a third-party processing company (First Data/Clover). Payments for books, events, admin fees, etc., will be added to tuition payments for the most current month. Please expect only one payment per month. Credit/Debit Card information is safely secured and solely used for recurring monthly payments. Please visit the Payments Page to submit payment information. No other forms of payment are accepted at this time. Lesson Rate is $37.50 per 30-minute timeslot. Monthly Tuition is calculated by a 40-lesson calendar year divided into 12 equal monthly payments. (Saturday lessons are calculated by a 30-lesson calendar year.) Each monthly payment covers 3 & 1/3 lessons. The number of lessons will vary per month throughout the year (usually 3-4 lessons per month). Due to the customary nature of monthly billing and payment cycles, this payment system is designed to maintain financial and budgetary stability for Ramos Piano Studio and students/parents alike. |
Refunds and Make-Up Lessons
A great deal of work occurs behind the scenes to ensure the highest standards at Ramos Piano Studio. Inclement weather, illness, or emergencies should not add uncertainty to a teacher's full-time livelihood. These policies create security, peace of mind, and studio longevity.
Student Cancellations
Student cancellations are non-refundable and make-up lessons are not guaranteed. Please give a 48-hour notice for any lessons that need to be rescheduled. Make-ups must occur within 7 days of the original lesson date and during available gaps in the studio schedule. Make-ups may not extend the studio hours. Although flexibility is the usual standard, it is not always possible. |
Teacher Cancellations
Teacher cancellations may be rescheduled for days when the studio is closed. A refund will only be issued if more than one lesson per student is owed due to a teacher cancellation. |
Summer Lessons
To remain competitively priced, 40 yearly lessons are insisted upon for every timeslot reserved at the studio. Summers are generally more flexible and make-up days will be provided during weeks when the studio is closed. Please plan to reschedule any lessons you will miss well in advance. Full monthly payment is expected in June and July to keep a timeslot reserved, whether lessons are taken or not. Students missing more than a month of lessons may likely not receive make-ups for every lesson missed. No summer make-ups may extend past August 1st. Priority is given to students willing to commit to 40 lessons a year. The studio cannot make any exceptions.
events and performance opportunities
Various performance opportunities are provided throughout the year and students are encouraged to participate in as many as possible. Performance abilities are best acquired outside of the lesson and are some of the most valuable life-skills Ramos Piano Studio promises to provide. Preparing for an upcoming event also helps develop goal-oriented habits. Confidence is built on success, and whether students choose to pursue a career in music or not, performance translates remarkably well to future work-related challenges, such as public speaking, leadership roles, and even asking for a pay raise. Most importantly, performance is just plain fun!
while on the premises
Lessons must start and end on time. Please address any questions or concerns during the lesson or via text/email. Please enter the home studio at your exact lesson time. Do NOT enter early or wait outside for an exiting student.
The home studio driveway is single car width. Please pull up all the way and park toward the left or right without blocking anyone in. Leave ample space for exiting students to reverse.
No bathroom will be available unless it is an emergency. Do not ask to enter my home for any reason. The backyard is NOT available for playing. Please respect personal privacy and remember the studio is also my home.
Parents must remain on the premises at all times unless other arrangements have been approved. All prospective new students must have at least one phone consultation before visiting the studio.
Practice must be routine
Great practice habits will always be encouraged and demonstrated as students develop full independence. Parents must be willing to participate at home by reminding students to practice or by developing a practice schedule to which they adhere. A general guide is provided below:
Recommended Minimum: 5 days a week
(more is always better!)
4-8 years of age – 15-20 minutes a day
9-12 years of age – 25-30 minutes a day
13+ years of age – 30-45 minutes a day
Competitive Students – 1 hour a day

Competitive Students – 1 hour a day
It is best to practice in short daily sessions rather than one long weekend session. The most important time to practice is within 24-hours of a student's lesson to ensure concepts and instructions are still fresh in mind. As students become more advanced and start to see, hear, and feel the accomplishments of their hard work, practice often becomes a daily love.
Policies are to be read and signed to ensure they have been reviewed and agreed upon prior to a student’s first lesson. Ramos Piano Studio will never require any contracts or 30-day termination notices.
Questions are welcome.
