The CFMTA Fall Festival is an annual fundraising event and a great performance opportunity for students. Set in a traditional recital format, students perform in front of a live audience while being evaluated by a judge. Each performer will receive 1) a rating and certificate based on the merit of their performance and overall presentation, and 2) personalized comments from the judge with feedback and constructive criticism.
 
The following guidelines must be observed by all participants:

  • Repertoire selection may be in any style, but must consist of a “dance” or a single movement from a “sonata” or “sonatina”. Students who are 9-years-old or younger are exempt from these requirements. However, all selections must be original piano compositions; no arrangements, transcriptions, or simplifications will be allowed.
 
  • Students must perform from memory and must come prepared with music for the judge. Music must be presented in its original form (book or sheet music). No photocopies allowed. All measures must be numbered. Points are deducted for neglecting any of these requirements.

  • Event showtimes: 9:00am, 10:30am, and 12:00pm. Each student will be assigned a performance time by the Fall Festival Chair. Please leave the entire first half of the day open. If you must absolutely request a time, please email me with an explanation that I may forward to the Chair for approval. Siblings will be kept together on the same showtime.
