NFMC National Music Week Essay Contest

NFMC offers a $75 cash prize to one student from every state for writing a winning essay. Contest is only open to 7th-12th grade students. Previous winners are not eligible to participate again.

Yearly Themes:

2022 Theme: Music…is Inspiration
2023 Theme: Music…is a Worldwide Adventure 
2024 Theme: TBD

Essay rules:

  • Essay must adhere to the yearly theme:
  • Essay must be typed and no longer than 500 words.
  • Essay is judged on content, neatness and legibility.
  • The current year’s theme and entrant’s name must be typed at the top of the first page. The teacher’s email address or telephone number must be included.
  • Students must supply a high resolution (1+ MB) JPG photo along with their essay.
  • Essays may be published.
